There’s always something going on in this busy town!

In addition to the Children's Festival, which starts today, below are six events that organizers uploaded to our free events calendar that caught our eye.

1. On today, May 3, the Community Salmon Fry Release at Fisherman's Park (Judd Beach) is on at 41481 Brennan Rd, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

"Free the fishies! 🐟 SRWS will be hosting a community salmon fry release at Fisherman’s Park on Saturday, May 3rd, in partnership with DFO at Tenderfoot Creek Hatchery and the Squamish Streamkeepers," reads the listing.

    2. Also on May 3, there's the Makers Flea Trading Post: Pop Up at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m. 

    "Just in time for festival season, we’re bringing the Makers Flea Trading Post to Tricksters Hideout for a pop-up! Whether you’re looking for your next vintage treasure, thrifted gem, or the perfect festival outfit, this is your chance to shop, and connect with local makers, thrifters, and curators of unique pieces," reads the listing.

    3. On tonight, at Trickster's Hideout is Squambala 2.0. from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. 

    "Festival season is just around the corner, and we’re kicking things off in style with Squambhala! Whether you’re gearing up for Shambhala or just looking for a night of electrifying beats and high-energy vibes, this is your chance to dive into the spirit of summer," reads the listing. 

    "💃 What to Expect: ✨ A festival-style atmosphere packed into one night 🔊 A seamless blend of house, funk, hip-hop, and electronic beats 🌈 Lights, visuals, and immersive vibes at Trickster’s Hideout 🎭 Festival attire encouraged—dress up, express yourself, and get in the groove!"

    4. On May 8, attendees to The Eco Auction at  the Brackendale Art Gallery: Café & Culture Centre, located at 41950 Government Rd, can support local youth, and the environment. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

    "This auction is the product of a simple goal: We (the CMA Grade 10 Activism Club) believe it's time to advocate for the effects of Climate Change and to protect the only home we have for life itself. This is a journey for greater action towards the Earth's plight. All of the proceeds from this auction will be donated to the David Suzuki Foundation, an organization whose mission is to preserve natural habitats and wildlife," reads the listing.

    5. On May 10, cowboys and cowgirls can unite for Country Night with Whiskey Blind, at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave. from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. 

    "Get ready to kick up some dust and dance the night away with Whiskey Blind, the high-energy Country/Rock band from Langley, B.C. Known for their electrifying performances and foot-stomping anthems, these boys bring the perfect mix of classic country, rock ‘n’ roll, and party vibes to every stage they hit," reads the listing.

    6. Another May 10 event to consider is Neighbourhood Craft, on at 38174 Cleveland Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

    "Neighbourhood Craft brings together artists, makers and growers with handmade, vintage and locally sourced goods in the heart of downtown Squamish," reads the listing.
