Two local mountain bikers took top spots at the Kicking Horse Enduro of the Clif Crankworks Summer Series.
Finn Iles took the overall win in the men鈥檚 elite category while Andr茅ane Lanthier Nadeau emerged victorious in the women鈥檚 elite division.
Iles put on a dominating performance getting the best time in three of the four stages.
He emerged with the best overall time of 18:00.17, which was about 27 seconds faster than the second place rider, Kasper Woolley.
鈥淚 feel like I鈥檓 in the best shape of my life right now,鈥� said Iles in a news release.
鈥淚 went a little bit faster on the big, massive pedal because I thought that if I had more time at the top I鈥檇 be able to rest and just be ready for the stage...So I was up there and I felt really good. I dropped in, almost crashed within the first three corners because I was a little bit nervous, I was like 鈥楧on鈥檛 blow the lead,鈥� but after that I sort of settled into my groove and a lot of the stuff was rougher and faster and suited my riding style. Yeah, it was awesome. 鈥�
Lanthier Nadeau took the best time in two of the four stages, and emerged with the best overall time of 21:16.42.
She narrowly beat out another popular Squamish rider, Miranda Miller for the gold. Miller had an overall time of 21:16.45.
鈥淚 was super happy with the result,鈥� said Lanthier Nadeau in the release. 鈥淚t鈥檚 always cool to have a win. Definitely even cooler just to be building up my form back to racing. I鈥檓 really, really thankful that Crankworx is giving us the opportunity to have some races. I think this is going to be life-changing for the B.C. field in the international race scene. I really think that鈥檚 important, and that鈥檚 so cool.鈥�
